Hello Yuli, Thank you for the question.
Rubella, also known as German measles, is a viral infection that causes a reddish rash on the skin. This disease is caused by the rubella virus which is highly contagious. This virus can be transmitted to other people through particles splashed by coughing or sneezing from sufferers and sharing food and drinks with the same plate or glass with sufferers. Apart from the red rash, the sufferer will also experience symptoms of fever, headache, red eyes, runny or stuffy nose, and enlarged lymph nodes. This disease does not require special treatment. The available treatment aims to relieve the symptoms experienced by sufferers. After a person has recovered from this disease, the body will form antibodies / immunity which last a lifetime. Thus, the sufferer can no longer get rubella.
Prevention of rubella that can be done is by undergoing the rubella vaccination recommended by the government. Doctors will also usually recommend vaccinations for women planning a pregnancy if the woman does not yet have immunity to rubella. Therefore, please follow the immunization schedule for your child as recommended by the pediatrician. Make sure you also check with a gynecologist if you are planning a pregnancy.
Hope this information is useful.
