Can Sinusitis Cause Lymph Nodes?
night I want to ask, whether sinusitis can cause enlarged lymph nodes in the neck? or feels palpable by the hand?
Hello, thank you for your question to HealthReplies.com
Sinusitis, like inflammation along the other airways, can also cause enlargement of the lymph nodes in the neck. Basically lymph nodes have an important role in supporting the body's immune system. When an infection occurs in a certain area, the lymph nodes will work harder to help deal with the infection so that the infection can heal and not spread to other places. Enlargement of lymph nodes in the neck can also occur due to causes other than sinusitis and infections of the other airways, such as:
infection of the lungs (by tuberculosis bacteria)
infection of the skin around the head and neck
other infections such as HIV, mononucleosis
tumor / cancer around the head and neck
tumor / lymph node cancer
If you experience certain symptoms that lead to sinusitis, you should do a doctor's examination directly so that the diagnosis can be confirmed and given appropriate therapy with the diagnosis. Do not make your own disease diagnosis let alone self-medication with drugs that are classified as hard drugs (drugs with a red circle on the packaging).
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
