Can Sucralfate And Lansoprazole Be Taken Together?
I want to ask, is it permissible if Sucralfate and Lansoprazole are consumed together? or only one? because I read in the article, the effect of lansoprazole will decrease if taking sucralfate, how is the explanation?
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Basically when sucralfate is drunk and entered the stomach, sucralfate will form a layer on the surface of the gastric mucosa. This layer serves to protect the injured stomach and intestinal mucosa (peptic ulcer) from getting eroded and irritated due to stomach acid and also other digestive enzymes. This formed layer which will also affect the absorption of lansoprazole. If the absorption of lansoprazole is disrupted, the work of Lansoprazole will also not be maximal.
Therefore you are advised not to consume these two drugs together. You are advised to take lansoprazole at least 1 hour before or after sucralfate consumption.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
