Can TB Eat Papaya?
Hello, can pulmonary TB disease be able to eat papaya
Hello Muh Sadam, Thank you for the question.
Tuberculosis (TB) is still one of the major health problems in Indonesia. TB is caused by a bacterial infection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis which is transmitted from a person to another through splashes of coughing or sneezing. This bacterium can cause infections in the lungs (pulmonary TB) and other organs outside the lungs (extra-pulmonary TB). Some symptoms of pulmonary TB are coughing up phlegm for more than 3 weeks, coughing up phlegm, fever, shortness of breath, night sweats, weight loss, decreased appetite, and weakness. Someone who is proven to have TB will be treated with antituberculosis drugs (OAT), which are a combination of antibiotics, for a minimum period of 6 months.
There are no restrictions on consuming certain foods. Basically, you can consume any food including vegetables and fruits (including papaya). You are encouraged to consume nutritious foods to help boost your body's immunity which helps to overcome this infection. In addition, you are also encouraged to take medicine according to doctor's orders. Avoid expelling phlegm carelessly, always cover your mouth and nose when coughing and clean, and always keep your hands clean to prevent transmission. Don't forget to follow the control schedule recommended by the doctor, yes.
I hope this helps.
