Can The Brain Damage Caused By Smoking Be Cured?
I felt that my brain power to think and remember things was reduced after I became addicted to smoking. From the articles I have read, it turns out that smoking can damage several organs, including the brain. Therefore, I was determined to quit smoking and restore my memory. Can my brain’s memory improve again?
Hello Muhamad Fikri.
Thank you for the question.
Memory or memory is the individual's ability to store, process and retrieve experiences, data, information that has been obtained in the past for the future by considering their own situation and condition. There are 3 stages of memory, namely:
Include a message in memory. Refers to the individual's way of transforming from the sensory system to memory. Memory storage. Refers to the way individuals retain information already stored in memory. Recalling. Refers to how individuals gain access to information that has been stored in memory. Memory is divided into 2, namely:
Short term memory. This memory was chosen to be stored because the individual paid attention to it. Long-term memory. This memory will gradually disappear with age. Cigarettes not only damage the brain, but damage all organs of the body.
The causes of memory loss besides smoking include:
consuming alcoholic beverages consuming drugs sleep disorders depression and excessive psychological stress lack of nutrients B1 and B12 head injury or trauma stroke brain infections such as brain tuberculosis, brain syphilis HIV infection excess thyroid hormone drugs such as antidepressants, allergy, anti-anxiety Smoking will make the brain the memory storage portion has shrunk or has decreased in size so that it cannot function properly.
The suggestions that I can give:
stop smoking, consuming alcohol, or drugs, get enough rest, eat a nutritious and healthy diet, regular exercise, avoid stress factors, do not take actions that risk the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV or syphilis, by: not having sexual intercourse with the risk of not changing partners using condoms every time going to have sex Get to know your own potential or recognize how to learn yourself to make it easier to remember. Some people have a way of learning visually, either pictures or writing, kinesthetic or by moving their limbs, or by recording and then listening again.
Hopefully my explanation can answer the question.
