Can Twins Occur After Conception (1 Month Pregnant)?
good afternoon doctor, sorry I want to ask because I am still unfamiliar with this field.
Multiple pregnancies are pregnancies with more than 1 fetus. Family history with twins does increase the chance of multiple pregnancies, but not all women who have a history of twins will definitely experience multiple pregnancies. Apart from family history, there are several other factors that also increase the likelihood of multiple pregnancies, namely age more than 35 years, consumption / treatment with fertility drugs, height and size, and the number of pregnancies that are increasing.
In general, there are 2 twin pregnancies, namely identical twins and non-identical twins. Non-identical twin pregnancies originate from 2 eggs that are fertilized by 2 sperm cells. Meanwhile, identical twins come from 1 egg, fertilized by 1 sperm, then dividing into 2 embryos. So far there is no natural way to confirm multiple pregnancies. However, IVF programs or pregnancy programs with uterine fertility drugs can increase the likelihood of multiple pregnancies.
For now there is no way that can be done to make a pregnancy into a multiple pregnancy. The most important thing is to ensure a healthy condition during pregnancy with adequate rest, meet daily nutritional and fluid needs, be active but don't get tired, and take pregnancy supplements as recommended by your obstetrician. Don't forget to do pregnancy control / ante natal care with your obstetrician every month so that your pregnancy is well monitored.
Hope it can help you,
