Basically, an ultrasound examination is not the same as an x-ray examination. X-ray examination does use electromagnetic radiation to produce images of organs and bones in the body, but ultrasound (as the name implies ultrasonography) uses sound waves to produce images of internal organs. These sound waves do not produce ionizing radiation as electromagnetic radiation on x-ray examination. Therefore doing an ultrasound examination after an X-ray examination is safe to do.
