Can Uterine Cysts Disappear Without Surgery During Pregnancy?
Hello doctor. I am pregnant 6 months there is a cyst 8cm to the right. Can it disappear without surgery
Hello Dwi, Thank you for the question.
Ovarian cyst is a fluid-filled sac that is inside the ovary / ovary. Ovarian cysts consist of functional cysts (cysts that are part of the menstrual cycle, usually harmless and can disappear by themselves) and pathological cysts (cysts that originate from abnormal cell growth). Symptoms of ovarian cysts are more menstrual bleeding, irregular periods, pelvic pain, pain during intercourse, and difficulty in urinating / defecating. Management of ovarian cysts depends on the size of the cyst, the presence or absence of symptoms in patients, and whether the woman has experienced menopause or not. In general, large cysts, more than 5 cm, cannot disappear by themselves. Most ovarian cysts found during pregnancy will disappear at 16-20 weeks of gestation. If the cyst has less than 5 cm and is still found when the pregnancy is 6 months old, your doctor will usually recommend a surgical removal of the cyst. Please consult with your obstetrician regarding further treatment. Before deciding on further treatment the doctor may conduct further tests to find out whether these cysts are formed from cancer cells through blood tests. If you are still unsure, you can consult with other obstetricians to ask for a second opinion.
