Good evening, thanks for the question
Tonsillectomy is the procedure of removing both tonsils or tonsils in the oral cavity. Tonsils are organs that function as a defense against foreign substances because they contain many immune cells. However, in some cases the enlargement of the tonsils causes upper respiratory tract infections to recur into the airway obstruction so it is necessary to take tonsillal action.
After surgery the patient will feel pain in the throat area during the healing period which is a maximum of up to 2 weeks. Patients are advised to consume soft foods during the recovery period and the choice is not only milk, provided that the consistency is soft, not spicy or sour.
You can eat soups, porridge, mashed potatoes, yogurt, puddings, cereals, and ice cream. Consumption of water and chunks of ice is also recommended so that fluid needs are still met. Avoid consuming foods that are hard and crunchy, spicy, sour, and too hot.
After at least 2 weeks post surgery, the patient can return to eating food as usual if no significant complications are found.
So, hopefully it can be useful
