Can You Take Clobazam Medicine Irregularly And Only When Needed?
I was prescribed elizac medicine once a day and clobazam twice a day 1/2 tablet. Clobazam is taken 1/2 tablet during the day and 1/2 tablet drunk at night. Can I drink clobazam once in a while when I need it?
Thank you for the question.
Need to be clarified, what are your complaints before you are finally prescribed the drug? What is the doctor's conclusion regarding the cause of your complaint? Do doctors recommend you for periodic control?
Clobazam is an anti-convulsant class of drugs whose use is to treat seizures, for example in people with epilepsy, psychiatric disorders or other organic disorders. Meanwhile, fluoxetine (elizac) is an antidepressant drug of the SSRI group (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) whose use is to overcome depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic attacks, bulimia, and other psychiatric disorders.
Consumption of the two drugs above, it is not recommended to be started and stopped carelessly without a prescription and direct supervision from a doctor. Especially for clobazam, the sudden cessation of consumption can cause symptoms of severe drug withdrawal, such as tremors, hallucinations, psychosis, anxiety, and so on.
Therefore, you should continue to undergo treatment and regular control to the doctor or psychiatrist as advised. With routine treatment, the symptoms of your disease can certainly be muted and you can indulge as usual without significant obstacles. If later you experience problems in treatment, it is better to consult directly with the doctor who prescribed it so that the best solution is found.
Hope this helps ...
