Can You Take Herbal Medicine So That The Caesarean Scar Quickly Dries?
Good afternoon, I just gave birth by caesarean 3 weeks. Is it possible to take Chinese medicine / ointment so that the former hooks dry quickly? If not, what medicine should I take? Please answer
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Basically, as long as you take good care of your stitches according to your doctor's instructions, your stitches will dry out and improve on their own within 1-2 weeks. The new stitches may completely disappear over a longer period of time (can take months), but your condition can completely recover (meaning you can do your daily work as usual) within 2-3 month. If after 3 weeks your wound is still not dry (still bleeding or festering), then you should go back to your obstetrician to check your wound, whether the wound has an infection or not.
Regarding whether or not you can consume Chinese medicine, you must first look at whether the Chinese medicine that you want to consume is indeed safe for you to consume or not. You must ensure that the drug is registered with BPOM first (you can check from the following BPOM website). If the Chinese medicine is already registered and has a marketing authorization from BPOM, then the second thing you have to make sure is whether the distributor of medicine is quite reliable or not. Do not let you take fake drugs or mix other dangerous ingredients by drug distributors.
If you can guarantee both of them, then the third thing you should check is the ingredients in the Chinese medicine. Are there certain ingredients that can interfere with your milk production (if you are breastfeeding your baby) and are they proven to be effective in healing wounds? If it is safe enough and indeed proven effective, then you may consume it. If you can not confirm the three things mentioned above, then you should not consume the drug.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
