Can You Use An Antiseptic For Abrasions Around The Vagina To Dry Quickly?
Afternoon doctor, 4 days ago I just gave birth normally and did not get stitches, but there are a few blisters around the vagina, may I give the drug betadin every time it hurts so it dries quickly?
Hello Putri Puput,
Blisters on the vagina can occur during labor. The delivery process can provide trauma in the form of blisters and laceration (tears) in the vaginal area, perineum (tissue between the vagina and the anal canal), as well as other parts around the vagina. Some tears require suturing to stop the bleeding, restore the form (cosmetics), maintain the function of the tissue.
Liquid Betadine contains povidone iodine which functions as an antiseptic. The drug has different dosage forms and concentrations for use in certain areas of the body. Povidone iodine can be used to treat abrasions in the vagina after childbirth. You can use special preparations for the vagina or use normal but diluted preparations. Long-term use should be avoided because it can actually kill normal flora (good) contained in the vagina. Avoid sexual intercourse for a while after giving birth. Change panties at least 2 times a day, do a wipe after the BAK is finished and dry. Control at the doctor or health facility according to a predetermined schedule. Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
