Candida Yeast Infection In Pregnant Women?
. I want to ask, I am now pregnant at 33weeks UK. The obgyn doctor said that I had a candida yeast infection then he was given a fungus cleansing action, and neo gynoxa medication. But before I found out I was infected with yeast I was still actively dealing with my husband. Is there a possibility that your husband can be infected? If not, what should my husband do? If you have contracted what medicine can you give? And as long as I still use neo gynoxa drug am I prohibited from having sex until the drug runs out ??
Hello Naahm, thank you for the question for HealthReplies.com
Candida fungus is actually a fungus that normally occurs on the skin, digestive tract and reproductive tract. Even though it is a normal flora, sometimes there can be an overgrowth of this fungus that can cause certain symptoms. Candida yeast infection in the female reproductive tract often causes symptoms such as yellowish white discharge that is thick and lumpy, smells sour, and causes itching and redness in the area around the vulva and groin.
This infection can also be transmitted through sexual contact. Candida infection in the male reproductive organs can give symptoms such as itching, redness, swelling of the penis area, accompanied by a sticky, odorous vaginal discharge in the head to the neck of the penis. In an uncircumcised male, it can also have difficulty pulling the foreskin open. If your husband experiences these symptoms, it is better for your husband to check with a general practitioner or Urologist for evaluation and appropriate therapy.
In the meantime, you can still have sex with your husband, but make sure you use a condom as long as you still have the infection to prevent transmission to your husband. Some other things you need to do:
Keep your groin area clean Use pantiliner and replace if pantiliner is wet If you do not want to use pantiliner, change your underwear as often as possible if your underwear is wet Do not use too tight underwear, use underwear made of material that absorbs sweat Do not use outer pants that too tight Do not douche or wash your vagina with chemicals or any traditional ingredients
So much information from me, hopefully it will be enough to answer
