Cause Of Headaches Right Up To The Ear?
good afternoon, I’m lina, woman, 37 years old, already have children 2. what I want to ask: my head on the right and my right ear hurts very often.
Hello linadarrel, thank you for asking to HealthReplies.com.
Are complaints accompanied by fever? Is there a history of swimming or ear cleaning with cottonbuds / other objects beforehand? Are there coughs / colds a few days before an earache? Please note that a diagnosis can only be made if a physical examination has been carried out directly. As for complaints of headaches accompanied by ear pain can be caused by:
- otitis externa (external ear infection): symptoms include ear pain, especially if the earlobe is pressed, sometimes it can be accompanied by fever. Risk factors: swimming, too much earwax, inserting foreign objects into the ear (cotton buds are not recommended for cleaning ears because the diameter of the cotton bud is quite large compared to the ear canal itself, so instead the earwax is pushed deeper into).
- otomycosis: fungal infections of the ear, symptoms itching, sometimes causing pain, hearing loss and full ears. Risk factors: cleaning ears with cottonbud.
- otitis media: infection of the middle ear space. Generally begins with an upper respiratory tract infection which then infects the middle ear space. The longer the ear space becomes full of infection exudate fluid (pus) (generally fever is higher), then the eardrum will be torn due to high pressure from the middle ear space, pus comes out (yellowish fluid) and can be accompanied by blood coming out of the ear (at this time fever generally drops). A torn ear drum will close automatically within 2-3 months if there is no recurring infection.
It is recommended to see a doctor. The doctor will examine your ear, and find out other causes that can trigger your headache. If there is an ear infection, the doctor will prescribe antibiotic drops / ointment for the ear, and if there are indications of prescribing antibiotics to drink (for otitis media) and pain relievers.
While sister can take paracetamol (can be bought freely at pharmacies) to reduce pain. It is recommended not to put any object in the ear and don't let the ear get in the water first.
All of our suggestions and answers, hopefully useful, good afternoon.
