Problems with the joints can occur due to problems with joint fluid, cartilage, tendons, ligaments and muscles around the joints.
In an elderly person, calcification of the joints is quite common. Calcification of joints in medical language is called osteoarthritis, which is inflammation of the cartilage that lines the joint.
Osteoarthritis generally occurs in adulthood or entering the age of 50 years and over. Risk factors such as injury when doing activities or sports, excessive weight / obesity and heredity are the most common causes that can trigger the onset of the disease.
Other conditions such as rheumatic disease, gout, osteoporosis / calcification of bones and rheumatoid arthritis can be one of the causes.
Disturbances in the bones and joints are established based on symptoms that are felt as well as physical findings from X-ray investigations, or CT scans. Symptoms such as pain in the diseased joint, swelling, crepitus or joint noise when moved and decreased joint elasticity during movement.
The first thing you can do is rest the affected leg, raise the knee position, compost with ice / cold water and avoid doing strenuous activities first. Doing moderate exercise is highly recommended. To avoid gout, consume healthy and nutritious foods that do not contain high purine levels, increase your consumption of water, exercise regularly and avoid smoking and alcohol.
If necessary consult further with the nearest doctor or specialist in internal medicine to get more complete information and evaluation.
So much information that I can convey, hopefully it helps
