Causes And Treatment Of Swelling After Dental Canal Treatment?
yesterday afternoon I did the third visit of the nerve channel treatment. After the treatment my teeth felt sore then the stiffness disappeared after about 15 minutes after the treatment. but about 15 hours after the treatment my teeth were swollen but there was no pus and my teeth became swollen too. is this normal after neurological treatment?
Post-dental nerve treatment or known as root canal treatment, allows for pain / sensitivity, throbbing sensation, and swelling in the area being treated. Root canal treatment aims to repair root canals that are damaged / perforated and is an alternative treatment for tooth decay in addition to the cavity filling procedure.
The complaints you experience will generally reduce within 24 hours after treatment. Dentists also generally provide home remedies for consumption in the form of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and anti-pain drugs. Take the drug according to your doctor's instructions.
If the swelling persists after 24 hours after treatment, you should return to your doctor for advice and treatment for your condition.
Here are some suggestions for you:
Compress the swollen area with cold water. Avoid food / drinks that are too hot or spicy for a while. Rinse after every meal to prevent food debris from being left between your teeth. Brush your teeth regularly and slowly. Avoid brushing your teeth too hard, especially in areas undergoing treatment. Take medication according to your doctor's instructions. If the doctor does not prescribe a home remedy, you can take an over-the-counter pain medication such as ibuprofen.
