Causes And Treatment Of Swollen Genital Sacs?
Hello ,, sorry Dr. I want to ask … I have a 12 year old nephew but his lower genitals (genital pouch) have been swollen for 3 days bysny sh normal .. why Dr. I ask for advice still …
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
The genital sac you mean is probably the scrotum (testicles). The scrotum is the part of the male genitalia that is located on the right and left sides of the penis, and contains the testes, epididymis, spermatic cord, and other tissues that support it.
Swelling of the scrotum in a child aged 12 years can be caused by many factors. If the new complaint has lasted for the past 3 days, then the most likely causes are:
Orchitis (inflammation of the testicles) Hydrocele (fluid-filled sac that surrounds the testis) Epididymitis (inflammation of the sperm ducts) Spermatocele (fluid-filled sac that develops in the epididymis) Inguinal hernia (intestine sticking out of the weakened abdominal wall) Varicocele (swelling of the scrotal veins) Infection skin, for example due to folliculitis Contact dermatitis (skin inflammation due to contact with irritants or allergies), for example due to contact with certain detergents or chemicals. Insect bites, etc. potentially interfere with fertility at a later date. Therefore, before it's too late, get your nephew checked directly to the doctor. Through direct physical evaluation, doctors can generally determine the possible cause of the lump and also what kind of best treatment needs to be done. Or, the doctor could also suggest your nephew to undergo further tests, such as ultrasound, and so on.
At this point, it's best to give your nephew the understanding not to hold, squeeze, or massage the swollen testicle. Also avoid using pants that are too tight and made of rough material so that the swelling does not get worse. Teach him to maintain personal hygiene, especially his genitals properly. Advise him not to push too much, lift heavy weights, or do other activities that have the potential to create excess pressure around the stomach.
Hope it helps ..
