Cancer is caused by changes in DNA mutations in body cells but the exact cause of this mutation is not known with certainty. Several factors can increase a person's risk of having cancer such as age, smoking habits, excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages, viral infections, radiation exposure, family health history, experiencing certain chronic diseases, and exposure to chemicals such as asbestos.
