Causes And Treats Toddlers Crying While Eating?
Doctor, I want to ask, I have a 1 year old child, every time my child eats he cries because he cries because he chokes, can choking often like that affect his lungs? Please enlighten me, thank you
Crying is a way for most children to express their feelings if they can't communicate well. Crying is also a sign if your child feels uncomfortable with what he is going through.
Choking is something that almost everyone experiences, including children. This choking usually happens accidentally. But there is no need to worry because the body has a mechanism to prevent choking-causing objects out through various mechanisms such as coughing the most.
However, this choking can be dangerous if an object large enough to enter the airway, which can cause airway obstruction and make it difficult for the sufferer to breathe. If the object that causes choking is small enough, but if it is too frequent, it is feared that the causative object can enter the lungs and become a source of infection.
It's a good idea to find out what causes a child to cry while eating and avoid it in order to reduce the risk of choking in children. And it's also good to give food to children when conditions are calm which also reduces the risk of choking.
I hope this helps.
