Hi Mariani,

Toothache can be caused by several of the following conditions:

Cavity
Broken or dated teeth
Infection of the teeth and gums
Dental abscess
Swollen gums
Tooth decay
Abnormal tooth growth
The habit of grinding your teeth

To make sure the cause of toothache must be examined first. While waiting for the dentist, you can try doing the following tips:

Get enough rest
Cold compresses on the cheek of the affected part
Gargle with warm salt water
Keep your teeth and mouth clean with a toothbrush twice a day
Gargle after eating
Take pain relief if necessary
Eat foods that are easy to chew

If the toothache does not improve, I suggest that you consult with your dentist. The dentist will conduct an examination to ascertain the cause and give you a more appropriate treatment.

Hope it helps you,

Thank you
