Causes And Ways To Deal With Itching On The Hands And Calves After Eating?
Hello doctor. I want to ask you .. I just realized after these 2 maybe, I think it’s itchy and swollen caused by mosquitoes. The cause every time I eat it (rice and side dishes) must cause swelling and itching on my right hand or not on my right calf. And the swelling of the itch appeared many like spread all over my right hand. I thought I was allergic. But before getting allergic, I’m fine, why don’t I just eat it. If I can know, I’m allergic to this? And how come it’s only hit now? And how do you deal with it, doctor?
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Basically, allergic reactions can occur to anyone (the risk is greater in people who have families who also have allergies) and can occur at any age (although it is more common / begins in childhood). However, generally allergic reactions due to food will appear spread throughout the body (not localized to the right hand or calf).
Swelling and itching can indeed be caused by allergic reactions, but can also be caused by other things, for example:
skin infections (either by viruses, bacteria, fungi, or parasites)
bites / stings of insects or other small animals
To find out the best treatment for itching on your skin, you must know the exact cause of the itch. It is better to check with a dermatologist first so you can see the lesion directly on your skin and do additional checks if necessary. For now, you should not scratch the lesion on your skin because it can cause further injury and bacterial infection of the skin. If it feels itchy, you can try to compress the itchy area with a cold compress or apply lotion containing calamine to help relieve itching.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
