Causes And Ways To Deal With White Patches On The Tonsils Accompanied By Inflammation?
Hello doctor, I’m Mozza from Jakarta … I want to ask, I’ve been to the doctor 2x because my throat hurts with a fever and it turns out I have inflammation of the throat but my tonsils are also a little swollen the first time. And yesterday I tried to check inside my mouth with a flashlight and glass when I was more comfortable eating food. Apparently in the left throat hole there was a white spot and the next day it turned out to be wider, was that a dangerous thing? and whether such conditions will always arise when inflammation has attacked us and then come back? And what needs to be done, what medication, what foods and drinks are recommended … I want to recover free from sore throat and tonsils again 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hello Ms. Mozaza Mozzarella, thank you for consulting us on HealthReplies.com.
Basically, white patches on tonsils / tonsils in medical terms is tonsillar detritus. Tonsillar detritus is a collection of bacteria, dead cells, mucus, saliva and food scraps which are then trapped in indentations of the tonsils, and eventually will harden. This condition is indeed triggered by tonsillitis or tonsillitis which actually occurs already or in a long time / chronic. Other conditions that trigger detritus besides tonsillitis are sore throat, oral candidiasis, tonsil stones, and mononucleosis.
To prevent detritus from forming more and spread basically is to treat the underlying disease. If in your case the underlying cause is strep throat, then what needs to be healed maximally is strep throat. Basically the treatment is by administering antibiotics in accordance with the optimal dosage, this can only be achieved by taking drugs according to the doctor's instructions. So we recommend that you re-check with your doctor to continue the antibiotic medication given for completion, or to the ENT doctor to get more optimal treatment.
In addition we recommend doing a few things to alleviate the symptoms of detritus, namely by:
gargle using salt water solution for at least 10 to 15 seconds
consumption of warm drinks that do not contain caffeine such as herbal tea or rhizomes
avoid places with high pollution levels and use masks when outside the home
For the sake of what we can convey, hopefully our information can be useful for you. thanks.
