Causes And Ways To Overcome Constipation In Infants Aged 7 Months?
I want to ask my children for 7 months already in 4 days. And his nose and breath are like stuffy stuff. Colds have not healed too, it’s been 3 days. What to do . Thank you
Good afternoon, thanks for the question
Constipation in infants is not only judged by the frequency of bowel movements that are more than 5 days, but is also assessed from changes in behavior such as the baby straining when going to defecate, visible pain, and the consistency of hard stool. Infants who get formula milk are more at risk of constipation because milk molecules are large and more difficult to digest by the intestine than breast milk molecules.
To overcome this, try to provide high-fiber food intake or increase breastfeeding if the baby has not received MPASI. It also can be done by doing gentle massage on the stomach to expedite baby's digestion.
As for complaints of colds which then cause blockages in the nose so that breathing becomes relieved, the mother can place the baby in a room that is not too cold, use a snotter if it seems to pile up, place the container filled with warm water carefully near the baby to relieve the nose , pat baby's back gently, and give milk more often if the child is still feverish.
Beware if the child experiences the following complaints:
1. Severe breathing problems
2. Breastfeeding decreases
3. TAKE A little
5. High fever more than 39 degrees
6. Constant vomiting
7. Look listless and not active
If the complaints have not improved or experience the above complaints, then immediately take the child to the doctor to get further treatment.
That's all, hope you can help
