Causes Of Chronic Bronchitis Without Feeling Symptoms?
I just had a thorax test which revealed the impression of chronic bronchitis. right pulmonary fibro infiltrates. whereas I don’t feel any symptoms. I am a smoker. is there a possibility of hereditary disease?
Hi Jakamurti, Thank you for the question.
Chronic bronchitis is not a hereditary disease. Bronchitis is inflammation of the main respiratory tract (bronchus) which can be divided into acute bronchitis and chronic bronchitis. Acute bronchitis is caused by infection of the bronchi which is generally caused by a viral infection. This infection causes irritation and inflammation as well as the production of more mucus. Chronic bronchitis is generally caused by smoking. Cigarette smoke can damage the cilia hairs in the respiratory tract, which function to remove dust, irritation, or mucus. If these cigarettes cause permanent damage, irritants and mucus cannot be excreted and can build up in the respiratory tract. This buildup can make the respiratory tract more susceptible to infection.
Bronchitis sufferers can cause symptoms of a cough with phlegm that worsens for more than 3 weeks, fever, sore throat, runny nose, chest pain, and fatigue. Chronic bronchitis sufferers do not always experience symptoms, generally symptoms will appear when the weather is cold or dry air, and the symptoms will recur.
To diagnose bronchitis, the doctor will need to carry out further medical interviews, a physical exam, and other examinations such as a sputum exam and X-rays. Please consult with your doctor who recommends this examination. The doctor will explain to you the X-ray results associated with your complaint and the doctor's physical examination. The results of this X-ray cannot be interpreted separately. The doctor will determine the next treatment after knowing the medical condition you are experiencing.
Please maintain your health by getting plenty of rest, increasing the consumption of nutritious foods, exercising regularly, managing stress well, and most importantly trying to quit smoking.
Hope this information is helpful.
