Causes Of Diarrhea In Children?
my son is 2 years 11 months old. Last week my child had diarrhea + heat. Already treated in the hospital for 3 days and the hospital has allowed to go home because my child’s peses have improved. Even though it is not perfect, but the peses have thickened, not liquid, and only twice a day. But after home and in the evening my child returned to warm and the peses melted again. Medicines from the hospital are still consumed, but there is no change. Even though you only defecate twice a day, the peses are runny. When treated, the lab results are good. Why is that?
Hello, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
Diarrhea is a condition where there is an increase in the frequency of bowel movements to more than 3x a day with a liquid consistency. Diarrhea can be caused by viral, bacterial, fungal, parasitic, allergic infections, food poisoning or deficiency or abnormalities in digestive enzymes. in children, diarrhea is most often caused by a viral infection of the digestive tract. the main triggers and causes of infection are environmental hygiene and poor sanitation
for the time being the most important thing you can do is to improve environmental sanitation and hygiene including
children's personal hygiene, washing hands before eating
Do not put a finger to the mouth
Ensuring the reliability of food and cutlery used
Ensuring the cleanliness of milk bottles
Ensuring the cleanliness of the water used
Ensuring that drinks and food consumed are clean and cooked
besides that, keep giving medicine from the doctor in accordance with the recommendations, increase fluid intake, and pay attention to the following danger signs:
Children become weak
The child does not want or cannot drink
accompanied by severe nausea and vomiting
There are no tears when crying
Lips and mouth look dry
Hands and feet felt cold
If there are danger signs mentioned above, you should immediately bring your child to the nearest emergency room to get a clinical assessment and appropriate treatment
So much information from me, hopefully it helps
