Causes Of Discomfort Using Minus Glasses?
Evening, I have a complaint after buying new glasses. My right eye is minus 3.25, left eye is minus 1.75 and cylinder is 0.50. But in my eyeglass lens size, the right eye is minus 2.50, the left eye is 1.50 and the cylinder is 0.50. After I put on the glasses, it was a bit uncomfortable because the object I saw moved or wavered a bit when I turned or nodded, besides that the object was slightly oval and seemed farther away. what do you think is the cause? Thanks
Hi Ayu Budi,
Thanks for the question.
One of the treatments for minus eye or other terms nearsightedness is the use of glasses. In addition to glasses, you can also use contact lenses. The difference is, in the use of glasses, there is an opportunity for complaints of distortion / visual disturbances in the view from the edge of the glasses (which is especially felt when you turn or nod). However, to determine the cause of your complaint, you should go to an ophthalmologist with your glasses. The doctor will take a history (question and answer complaints), physical examination, the doctor will also check your visual acuity (visual acuity) using glasses to find out if there has been an expected correction.
To avoid distortion of vision at the edges of the glasses, you can discuss with your ophthalmologist about the possibility of using contact lenses. Keep eating healthy foods with a balanced menu, avoid smoking, use anti-ultra violet glasses when it's hot, and rest your eyes (use the 20-20-20 rule, which is every 20 minutes looking at the monitor, rest your eyes for 20 seconds by looking away) to take care of his health.
So hopefully can help.
