Causes Of Enlarged Eyebrows?
Hello, I’m 18 years old, and lately when I feel my forehead how come the brow bone is getting bigger but it doesn’t hurt, what kind of stuff is that? And can my brow bones return to normal?
Hello Fajri, thank you for asking.
When mentioned lately are you referring to recent days or months? Enlargement of the brow area can occur on the skin (like a lump), or on structures under the skin, such as bones or muscles. Bulging of the brow bone may be caused by weight loss, so that the fat on the face is reduced, consequently facial bones stand out more. Bulging can also be caused because you are still in the age range of growth, so that your bones including facial bones can still grow and develop.
However, if the protrusion is felt to be very significant compared to other facial bone structures, or if the protrusion only occurs on the brow, accompanied by pain or inflammation, then it is likely that there are bone abnormalities.
If protrusion on the brow bone is also accompanied by protrusion on the jawbone, enlarged nose size, protruding cheekbones, enlarged fingers and toes, thickening and rough skin, then there may be a condition called acromegaly. Acromegaly is a growth hormone disorder that causes abnormal bone growth.
If there are no other symptoms, it is likely that the protrusion is not dangerous. But if there are additional symptoms as mentioned, it helps you consult directly with your doctor.
Hope this helps. Regards.
