1 Answer:

Good morning, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. We understand your confusion. By definition, miscarriage is actually the condition of the fetus from the womb before 20 weeks' gestation. In your case, aged 22-24 weeks, the name is no longer a miscarriage but fetal death. The 20-week restriction is based on the maturity of the fetus, which is actually considered to be sufficiently developed.

Unfortunately until now, no one can determine the exact cause of miscarriage or fetal death. What can be known so far is the factors that increase a woman's risk of miscarriage. Among these factors are:

The age of the mother is more than 35 years or less than the same as 20 years
Infection during pregnancy
Smoking or breathing cigarette smoke
Consuming alcohol or drugs that are dangerous for pregnant women
Have certain health problems such as abnormal uterine structure, weak cervix, and cysts
Excessive consumption of caffeine in tea and coffee
Overweight or underweight
Never miscarried before
There are genetic abnormalities in the fetus

So it is often encountered couples who do not know anything and it feels like they have been caring for their fetus well during pregnancy but suddenly faced with a decision that the fetus has died. All this is because the factors that influence it very much and the exact cause is unknown.

So our advice, if you still plan to have children, you should consider the following points. First, you must feel physically and mentally ready to have more children. Some experts recommend giving a 6-month gap between miscarriage and subsequent pregnancy for the mother's physical and mental readiness. Second, try to implement a healthy and balanced diet, such as vegetables and fruits that have a high fiber content. Third, avoid people who smoke as much as possible. Then prevent infection by maintaining overall body hygiene, receiving vaccines and cooking food until fully cooked. Maintain ideal body weight, and last but not least, check your pregnancy at the gynecologist so that if something seems wrong, it can be detected early. So, hopefully answering your question.
