Causes Of The Menstrual Cycle?
hello, I want to ask, why does the menstrual cycle occur? thank you
The menstrual cycle is part of the development and growth of a woman's reproductive cycle. Entering puberty, signs of a woman's sexual maturity will begin to form. These signs include enlarged breasts, the growth of armpit and pubic hair, and the start of the menstrual cycle.
Since birth a woman, normally already has ovum cells in the ovary. Entering puberty, ovum cells will experience maturation. An increase in reproductive hormone levels since the start of puberty. When someone has entered the maturity of the reproductive cycle, then the levels of reproductive hormones will experience a surge resulting in ovulation (ovum cells separated from the ovary). Ovum cells will then be ready to be fertilized by sperm cells. In this period, the uterine wall will begin to thicken. If fertilization does not occur, reproductive hormone levels will fall, ovum cells die, and the uterine wall will decay. Menstruation occurs.
Since the time of the first menstruation, the cycle will repeat every month. That is why, generally women will experience menstruation once a month. Hope this answer helps. Regards.
