Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
Need to clarify, how do you know that there is a boil in your ear? Do you really see or feel a mass in your ear? Have you been checked by a doctor?
A throbbing pain in the ear is not necessarily caused by a boil (folliculitis) growing inside the ear. It could also be, this pain arises due to other causes, for example:
Otitis externa (inflammation of the outer ear) Excessive noise exposure Otitis media (inflammation of the middle ear) Cerumen impacta (build-up of earwax) Migraine (throbbing headache caused by abnormalities in the blood vessels in the head) Dislocation (shift) of the jaw joint Sinusitis (inflammation of the sinus cavities) Psychosomatic disorders, and so on. If you feel that there is a mass resembling a boil in your ear, it does not necessarily mean that the mass is from a boil. It is also possible that the mass occurs due to acne, warts, Herpes zoster, lymphadenitis, and so on.
Because the cause of the pain is not yet clear, we are not authorized to recommend drugs to cure your complaint. However, if you want to relieve pain, you can take paracetamol first. However, for definitive treatment, you should still check with your doctor first. If it is true that there is a boil in your ear, then the doctor can prescribe several types of drugs, such as antibiotics, anti-pain, or also recommend that you undergo more advanced medical procedures. invasive, eg incision of boils with minor surgical procedures.
Meanwhile, in addition to taking painkillers, you should not pick at your ears excessively, including using a cotton bud. Avoid exposure to excessive noise around the ear so that the pain does not get worse. Make sure your ears are always dry. And avoid using any ear drops unless advised by a doctor.
Hope it helps ya..
