Hello, good night Snurhayati.
Menstruation occurs due to the process of shedding of the uterine wall due to the absence of fertilization of the mature egg by the sperm. 14 days before the onset of the first day of menstruation, women will ovulate. Ovulation is the release of a mature egg from the ovary. When the sperm fertilizes the egg, there is an early stage of the pregnancy process. However, if the egg does not meet the sperm cell and is not fertilized, the egg will be digested again and hormonal changes occur, resulting in the sloughing of the uterine wall. The mature egg can only survive for 24-48 hours after ovulation, therefore based on this theory the chance of getting pregnant during sexual intercourse 3 days before menstruation can be said to be small (not impossible).
During menstruation, the color of menstrual blood can change, and this is very normal. In the first days of menstruation, the blood will be blackish red and quite a lot, even appearing in the form of clots. After a few days later, the blood will be lighter in color, this is because the blood has just formed (due to the ongoing sloughing of the uterine lining) and is immediately excreted by the body. So, you don't have to worry too much about this, as long as you don't experience heavy bleeding, severe stomach pain, fainting, pale, and weak. If these things happen, immediately go to the nearest emergency room.
Regarding the signs and symptoms of pregnancy, it is divided into two, namely uncertain signs/symptoms and definite signs of pregnancy. Uncertain signs of pregnancy include:
no menstruation nausea in the morning easy feeling dizzy, tired, and weak breasts feel sore and sensitive breasts enlarge nipples are darker in color and the circle around the nipples widens frequent urination sensitive to the smell of blood spots. In early pregnancy, there may be bleeding from the vagina, but this bleeding is usually light (in the form of spots, a little) and only lasts 1-2 days. This bleeding occurs due to the process of attaching a fertilized egg to the uterine wall. Beta-HCG tests on test packs or blood labs show positive results. While certain signs of pregnancy include the discovery of a fetus in the uterus on ultrasound examination or the discovery of a fetal heartbeat.
If your period lasts shorter, lasts longer, bleeds more heavily, feels more painful, or is not as usual, it is recommended that you consult an obstetrician for further examination. Your doctor may order an ultrasound to help assess your condition.
That's all, hope it helps. Regards, dr. Denisa
