Hello Andreyan Yuwana,
Fever is an increase in body temperature above normal. Normal body temperature is 36.5 to 37.5 degrees Celsius, the easiest to measure using a thermometer, such as the armpit thermometer. When the fever areas with large blood vessels, the central areas of the body such as the forehead, neck, chest will certainly feel the hottest.
Fever is often felt hotter at night. This is because human body temperature is indeed higher at night.
Fever can occur in various types of diseases from respiratory infections, gastrointestinal infections, infections of the skin, urinary tract infections, inflammation, to malignancy. Body temperature can also increase under conditions of dehydration (lack of body fluids) or due to exposure to high ambient temperatures.
Doctors can not determine the exact diagnosis from just one symptom (fever) without knowing how long the fever has been going on, how the fever pattern (high heat at a certain time and then down to normal, continuously high, slowly high and permanent and not down to normal, there is a fever-free day, etc.), other symptoms you feel, the risk factors you have, a history of illness and previous treatment.
Direct physical examination also needs to be done to look for any clinical signs in your physical that are typical for an illness. Supporting examinations such as blood laboratory tests, urine tests, etc. are requested by the doctor and the type of examination is adjusted if the doctor suspects an illness from a physical examination and history taking.
If your symptoms are mild and do not interfere with activity, you can do independent medication to reduce fever. For example by taking the drug paracetamol (fever-reducing), consuming enough water, resting 7-8 hours / day, compressing warm when body temperature is high. If there is a high fever> 40 degrees Celsius, fever> 3 days does not go down with paracetamol, there is severe headache, pain in the neck accompanied by stiffness, and other emergency signs, you can visit the nearest health facility.
* You need to know that now the Covid-19 pandemic is happening. Read about Covid-19's disease and analyze your risk of contracting the disease. Thus the explanation from me, hopefully useful.
