Causes The Sound To Be Hoarse And Small?
Assalamu’alikum Warhmatullahi Wabarakatuh Doctor,
Hello Akhmad Faris,
Hoarseness can be caused by several abnormalities in the vocal cords, such as inflammation (laryngitis) or the presence of nodules / tumors in the vocal cords. Laryngitis or inflammation of the vocal cords can be caused by viral / bacterial / fungal infections, excessive use of vocal cords (screaming, etc.), allergic reactions, irritation of stomach acid, irritation of cigarette smoke, and so on.
Symptoms of laryngitis include:
Hoarseness or even loss of sound
Pain in the throat
Shortness of breath (in severe cases)
The diagnosis of laryngitis apart from clinical symptoms is by laryngoscopic examination to see the vocal cords directly. Treatment of laryngitis usually depends on the underlying cause. Provision of pain relief and inflammation reduction medications are usually an option. In some cases doctors usually add antibiotics. Patients are encouraged to rest their voices (not saying much, shouting, etc.), consume foods with balanced nutrition and multiply the consumption of fruits and drink enough water.
Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
