Causes Throat Feels Hot After Choking?
I want to ask, I suddenly choked after that my throat felt spicy and hot, the taste was not good. why?
Hello Layuda, thank you for asking.
When someone chokes, then food or drink that should enter the esophagus (esophagus) will enter or almost enter the throat (trachea). The trachea, which is the respiratory tract, is not designed to receive food, so that when food enters the trachea, the body will respond. The response is in the form of a cough that aims to expel incoming food as soon as possible. Food is considered as a foreign body in the trachea so that the trachea mucosa will become irritated. The irritation causes burning, or pain and spicy. The feeling will disappear after the irritation of the respiratory tract is resolved. Mucus in the mucosa will remove the remaining food out of the trachea so that irritation can be overcome.
If you still feel the burning sensation after a few days, then you should consult a doctor tht. The doctor will examine the trachea and esophagus to see signs of infection. Now avoid foods or drinks that are too spicy or sour. Help with warm drinks to reduce discomfort. Thus a brief explanation from us, hopefully helped. Regards.
