Hello evening .. I want to ask .. A few days ago I was infected with cellulitis, given antibiotics .. And has deflated .. But this is still a small lump of soft and residual in the infection … Can it .. Can it heal by itself? Or pus must be removed? Thank you
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Before I want to confirm in advance, whether cellulitis was diagnosed by a doctor and antibiotic therapy is also given by your doctor?
Basically cellulitis is caused by a bacterial infection, therefore giving antibiotics is the right therapy to overcome this condition. Nevertheless, the administration of antibiotics must still be in accordance with instructions from the doctor. The antibiotic must be right, the dose must be right, and the duration of antibiotics must also be right. Generally if treated properly, the symptoms of cellulitis will improve within 2-3 days, and will disappear after 7-10 days. If cellulitis develops into an abscess (a pus-filled pocket under the skin), then you should go back to your dermatologist for further treatment. Treatment will usually involve an incision and drainage of the abscess to remove pus in the abscess and reintroduce antibiotics.
You should check with your doctor again to evaluate the small lump in the area of your infection. If it is needed, your doctor will do the pus removal action. Do not take action pus alone (squeeze, prick, or cut the top surface of your own skin). Doing this is very dangerous and has the potential to cause further infections in your skin.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
