my cervical MRI result, r nAlignment of the cervical spine is normal. No listesis or compression was seen. Intervertebral discs C5-6 in thickness and decreased intensity appear to bulge posteriorly. No root suppression appears. No intradural lesions were seen. Normal paravertebral lining. MR myelography of the spinal canal indented C5-6. Impression: protusio as high as C5-6, no root emphasis appears. R n r nWhat do you mean, thank you
Hello. Thank you for the question.
What symptoms did you experience that led to this MRI examination? Magnetic Resonant Imaging (MRI) is a scan that is best used to evaluate soft tissues, such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves. MRI is widely used as one of these tests to determine the spinal cord and spinal conditions. The spine is a channel where the spinal nerves are located. These spinal nerves exit from the holes between the vertebrae to supply the body. From this examination it can be seen whether the condition of the spine is in place and whether there is compression on the nerves. The results of this examination cannot be interpreted alone without information about the complaint and the physical examination of the doctor. Therefore, to find out with certainty what is the cause of your complaint, you should consult again with the doctor who recommended this examination so that the doctor can provide an explanation of the medical condition you are experiencing as the cause of the symptoms you are experiencing.
However, here is the information that I can convey about the results of the examination:
MRI is done on the spine in the neck
the position of the cervical vertebrae appears normal
no spinal displacement (listesis) or spinal compression (compression) was seen
there was a protrusion of the cushion between the cervical vertebrae 5 and 6 (C5-C6) but no compression on the nerve
Sorry I can't provide further information because of the limited information you provide. Please discuss further with your neurologist about the results of this examination so that the doctor can also provide further treatment for the symptoms you are experiencing.
Hope this information is helpful.
