my mother had chemo breast tumor, well 4 months later. There is a spread in the neck continue to have chemo again. Is the dosage the same medicine?
Hello Hilla, Thank you for the question.
Chemotherapy is a treatment for breast cancer that can be used as:
adjuvant therapy; chemotherapy is performed after surgery that aims to treat cancer cells that may still have remaining neoadjuvant therapy; chemotherapy is done before surgery to reduce the size of the tumor so that it is easier to remove during surgery. Chemotherapy can also be given to patients with advanced breast cancer with spreading cancer cells. Chemotherapy drugs are usually given by doctors in the form of a combination of several drugs such as anthracycline (doxorubicin or epirubucin), taxane (paclitaxel), carboplatin, cyclophosphamide, fluorouracil. Regarding the type of drug, the dose and duration of chemotherapy drugs will be determined by the doctor after conducting further examination of the patient and adjusted to the patient's response to this drug. We recommend that you consult with a specialist who handles your mother to find out about the chemotherapy plan because the doctor will better understand your mother's condition after conducting the examination.
