I (18) got smallpox and I didn’t go back to my hometown. When I left the boarding house, I met my friend, before I warned my friend that if I was having smallpox, he was close to me. is my friend likely to be infected or not?
Chickenpox is a disease caused due to a viral infection. Chickenpox can be transmitted through direct contact with patient lesions or through respiratory air.
How do you mean being close to your friend? Does your friend come in contact with your rash or lesion? If your friend is in contact with your lesion, then it has the potential to cause chickenpox. but if you just talk then the possibility of contracting is smaller. But if your friend has had chickenpox, then there is no chickenpox re-infection.
