Child Aged 8 Months Having Seizures But Not Accompanied By Fever?
Good afternoon. I want to ask my son who is 8 months and less than 6 days. This morning he had a seizure but he didn’t have a high fever. What is the cause, and how to prevent it.
Seizures are one of the conditions that need enough attention. Seizures that are not accompanied by fever can be caused by many things, such as:
Lack of blood sugar
Heart rhythm disturbances
Epilepsy is a disorder of activity in the brain that causes seizures. Electrolyte imbalance and lack of blood sugar in the body can also cause seizures. Electrical rhythm disturbances in the heart can also trigger seizures in both children and adults. Poisoning whether it's toxic materials, chemical side effects of drugs can also trigger seizures.
It's a good idea to take your child to a doctor, especially a pediatrician to determine whether your child is suffering from seizures or not and whether there are any underlying abnormalities. Because it could be that your child is not experiencing seizures but other things such as shivering for example. Later the doctor will conduct a more detailed interview and examine your child directly and will provide appropriate therapy if it is needed.
I hope this helps.
