Good evening, thanks for the question
Mucus in the lower airway is formed as the body's defense mechanism against invading microorganisms in the lower airway. However, excessive mucus production can be a problem for children because they cannot cough up phlegm optimally. The condition causes respiratory distress to disrupt the quality of sleep of children. Sputum cough can be caused by a viral, bacterial infection, allergic reaction, or respiratory tract irritation due to irritants. Some things that can be done to help issue dahal in children, namely:
1. Gently pat the child's back when coughing
2. Bathe the child with warm water to help relieve the airway
3. Inadequate hydration of children
4. Avoid using AC for a while
5. Avoid cigarette smoke
If the complaint has not improved with these efforts and the cough has been experienced for more than 2 weeks, you should do a re-examination with a doctor to evaluate the child's condition.
That's all, hope you can help
