Chronic Cough And Itching In The Throat?
Hello, it’s been almost 2 years of my throat, itchiness that usually appears when I touch sweet, oily or pungent foods. The effect is cough, no phlegm but the sound is quite loud. Sometimes my throat is itchy, but I can’t cough, I have to press my throat slightly with my fingers so that I can cough because I can’t stand the itchiness in my throat. Guess that’s why? I have given cough medicine all brands do not work.
Hello, thanks for the question.
Itching in the throat can be caused by several things such as throat irritation or allergic reactions to certain foods / drinks / substances such as cigarettes, upper respiratory tract infections, lung infections, malignancies, and so on. The risk of this complaint is usually increased in people with a history of previous allergies or family history of allergic diseases, low endurance such as those who take immune system-suppressing drugs, people who undergo chemotherapy, or people with infectious diseases HIV, etc. Other risks are smoking, a history of contact with people who have a long cough, a history of frequent contact with dust, smoke, or chemicals, and others. This complaint will usually improve by itself, you should avoid foods / drinks that stimulate complaints, increase the consumption of fluids, especially warm drinks, eat healthy and nutritious food, adequate rest, avoid cigarettes and alcohol. If the complaint still does not improve you should consult a doctor, the doctor will conduct a direct examination and additional examinations such as laboratory examinations, chest X-rays, and others as needed. Handling will be adjusted to health conditions and the severity of the disease that occurs.
Thus, hopefully it helps.
