Chronic Itching On The Back?
Good afternoon doctor…, I want to ask, I have itching on my back (the worst). This itching has been going on for 3 years and is not getting better. Even though I have gone back and forth for treatment to clinics, health centers, doctors. And their opinions are also different, they say they are allergic, they say they just got ordinary dust, etc. I’m confused, if it’s just like that why doesn’t it get better. And if I don’t take the medicine it comes back again, I’m tired of the doctor taking medicine all the time. The shape is like a pimple, red-red, and a lot. Please give a solution
Hi Wafiq.. Thank you for the questions given.
Complaints of itching on the skin can disturb the sufferer because it causes discomfort and is sometimes disturbing. Causes of itchy back skin include:
Atopic eczema -- caused by an allergic reaction, where everyone's allergies are different. The complaint is a red rash that feels itchy, hot, and dry Fungal infection -- a reddish rash with a more active edge, circular in shape and can become more widespread Parasitic infection (scabies) -- due to parasites that often cause itching between the fingers, armpits, groin, ankles and hands Acne on the back Bacterial infections (folliculitis / bacterial infection of the hair follicles, boils) To make a diagnosis of skin complaints must be done directly by a doctor. The doctor will perform a physical examination and may proceed with examination of skin scrapings and viewed under a microscope. If your complaint does not improve, expands, feels pain, then you can consult a dermatologist. For skin complaints, treatment must be carried out for the cause of the complaint (eg due to fungi, parasites, bacteria, or allergies) not only drugs to reduce itching.
In the meantime what you can do:
Avoid scratching the itchy area to prevent infection Change clothes, sheets, towels regularly and avoid sharing with other people. Keep your body clean, take regular baths, and wear clothes that absorb sweat.
