1 Answer:

Hello, thanks for the question.

Colds and nasal congestion can occur due to the accumulation of mucus in the nasal cavity and due to enlargement of tissue or blood vessels around the nose. This can occur due to flu, allergic rhinitis, irritation, vasomotor rhinitis, sinusitis, foreign bodies, nasal polyps, etc. Recurrent colds are most often caused by allergic rhinitis, other complaints that are felt in the form of nasal congestion, frequent sneezing, clear mucus, etc. which often appear mainly in the morning or after exposure to trigger factors, such as cold air, food / drink, drugs , etc. The risk of developing this disease is mainly in people with a history of allergies and a family history of allergies. Allergic diseases generally will still continue to appear and recur until trigger factors are known and avoided. Complaints of colds due to allergies can actually heal itself, but if complaints are felt to be disturbing and very often recurred you should consult an ENT doctor, the doctor will ask questions about complaints, thorough and specific physical examination of the ear nose, throat, and supporting examinations if needed such as examinations laboratory, X-rays, CT scans, nasal endoscopy, etc. to determine the condition and causes of complaints. Specific examination of the nose can be done with tools such as rhinoscopy, throat with laryngeal glass, etc. Handling can take the form of medication, drinking or topical to the nose, to surgical procedures depending on the underlying disease. Some things you can do yourself at home to reduce complaints include:

Inhale steam
Sleep with a high pillow to make breathing easier
Spray a nasal rinse solution to help thin mucus
Eat nutritious foods, get enough rest
Increase the consumption of fluids
Avoid stress and alcohol.
Avoid cigarettes
Avoid triggers.

Thus, hopefully it helps.
