Contusion Around The Eyes Due To An Accident?
Hello, I’m Eli, I want to ask .. 2 days ago I had an accident .. Because of avoiding the cat that caused me to fall and swerve, on the top of the eye, precisely on the eyebrows, there were quite severe injuries, resulting in swelling around the eyes and cheeks .. What I want to ask .. Does it affect my eyes or not? And how to treat swollen and purple bruises blue? Thank you…
Good evening, thanks for the question
Bruising around the eye occurs due to small blood vessels bursting so that some blood fills down the layers of the skin for example due to blunt trauma around the eyes. In the early stages there will be swelling, then a change in skin color. Initially it will appear reddish, then it will gradually turn bluish, purplish, green, to yellowish.
Another complaint is that pain can also last for several days. This condition actually does not need special treatment as long as more severe conditions are not found during the initial examination, for example the existence of a fracture in the skull. If there is still swelling, it can be compressed using cold water routinely 2-3 times a day.
Sometimes if there is redness on the whites of the eyes, then it is likely subconjunctival bleeding. The condition will generally recover spontaneously in a period of 2 to 3 weeks. Sometimes there are also complaints of blurred vision.
Consult with your doctor if you experience the following complaints:
1. Persistent visual impairment
2. Vision becomes double
3. Feelings wedge in the eyes
4. Disorders of moving eyes
5. Severe head pain
That's all, hope you can help
