Cough Accompanied By A Sore Throat That Does Not Go Away?
Hello, I have had a cold cough for almost a week, I have been examined but the cough is getting worse and has not yet healed, but now my throat hurts to the right ear, initially only one side, for a long time the left side also gets sick until the ear doesn’t sound like it ,, I have flesh growing at the base of my throat, and the doctor must have surgery, what is it that causes pain? Please explain, thank you.
Hello Windy Kazumi,
Inflammation in the pharynx (pharyngitis) or in the tonsils (tonsillitis) can provide complaints of ear pain. Pharyngitis and tonsillitis are most often caused by a viral or bacterial infection. Complaints that often accompany are:
Sore throat or pain when swallowing
Some infections of the upper respiratory tract that are not handled properly can also cause infections in the middle ear (otitis media) which also causes complaints of ear pain, accompanied by discharge of fluid such as pus, odor, ear feels full, the ear is less hearing. If the lump at the base of the throat in question is the tonsils, then the inflammation that continues to the tonsils can result in pain reaching the ears or infection spreading to the ears. If the lump is not a tonsil, it can also cause pain in the ear if the size of the lump is large and irritates the sensory nerves of the ear.
You can take pain medication to reduce your complaints. Consumption of nutritious food and enough water. Gargling with warm salt water can also reduce complaints of sore throat. Consult your doctor tht if there is no change in the condition of your ears and accompanied by a marked decrease in hearing function. Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
