Morning, 3 days ago when I rongsen I stated the impression that the duplex is active. Because a week ago I coughed up a lot of blood. But when I read about active duplex, I didn’t experience the signs / symptoms, I just kept coughing. And I was given the doctor’s medicine, before I took the medicine I didn’t have a runny nose and my urine was red, but when I took the medicine from a doctor’s prescription, I immediately ran out and my urine was red. Why is that, is it because of the drug effect or something. thanks. Please respond to my question.

Hello Melodi, Thank you for your question on HealthReplies.com

KP duplex is an infection of both lungs (TB) that is currently active. Tuberculosis is a lung infection caused by the bacteria mycobacterium tuberculosis, which is transmitted through droplets, and people will get infected if the droplets are inhaled. Clinical symptoms in active KP duplex patients are a productive cough for 3 weeks, bloody cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, weakness, decreased appetite, weight loss, high fever and night sweats. However, the symptoms you are experiencing can also be other possibilities, namely:

Bronchitis, is an infection of the bronchial airways
Bronchopneumonia
Pneumonia, is a chronic lung infection
COPD, is a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Lung cancer
Allergy

The doctor who examines you who knows better what you are sick, because he is the one who performs a physical examination and performs supporting examinations, if you are not sure, you should consult your doctor again or you can have a second opinion or check with another pulmonary specialist to ask In his opinion, if indeed you are declared active duplex KP, then you should be given anti-tuberculosis drugs or OAT. and the red color of your urine is the effect of one of these OATs. Pulmonary TB treatment is carried out for 6 months, after which it will be re-evaluated.

Several things you can do

Take medicine regularly
Avoid forgetting to take OAT medication
Take OAT according to the dose and schedule at the same time every day
Eat nutritious food for endurance
Get enough rest
Stop smoking

Thank you, hope it is useful. Dr. Nurmarwiyah
