Good morning, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. Complaints of coughs that never go away can occur due to a variety of possibilities, such as:
COPD or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Frequent inhalation of cigarette smoke and pollution
In your case, if you have been diagnosed with allergies, unfortunately allergies have not yet found a cure. Allergy medications that exist now only function to relieve symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, cough, nasal congestion, itching, and redness until the trigger allergies disappear. But if one day you are exposed to your allergen triggers, which can be in the form of dust, cold air, animal hair, pollen, or so forth, your complaint will return. So indeed the only way not to get allergic is to avoid the originator.
But apart from that, in fact your steps to visit a specialist is appropriate. Now if the complaint does not improve, return to the specialist in internal medicine or lung doctor who treats you to do an evaluation and administration of additional drugs, drug changes, or further tests to look for possible causes other than allergies if it turns out, no triggers were found in your medical history .
Meanwhile, apply warm balm on the chest area, avoid cigarette smoke and pollution, consume lots of warm water, take regular breaks, and exercise regularly. So, hopefully answering your question.
