Doc do I always have to wear a mask and handsanitizer?
Thank you for the question.
COVID-19 is a disease caused by the new Corona virus and was only discovered in Wuhan, China at the end of 2019 (SARS-CoV-2). This disease is transmitted through droplets (sprinkling of saliva, snot, or phlegm) that are inhaled or swallowed into the respiratory tract. You are at risk of contracting this disease if:
Being within a distance of less than 2 meters from patients who sneeze, cough, spit, and even talk
In contact with objects contaminated with viruses from a patient's droplet, such as when shaking hands, exchanging eating or drinking utensils, holding the door handles, pressing the elevator button, holding money, and so on
With regard to the mode of transmission, the main steps that need to be taken to prevent transmission of COVID-19 are to:
Maintain social distance, i.e.
Do not leave the house, unless urgent
Keep a minimum distance of 2 meters from the people around you
Avoid the crowd
Avoid shaking hands, exchanging personal belongings with others, or holding carelessly public facilities
Improve personal hygiene, namely:
Bathing and changing clothes at least 2 times a day
Be diligent in washing your hands with soap and running water, especially after traveling outside the house, after every contact with an object that may be contaminated with a virus, before handling your face
Keep the house clean, spray disinfectant on objects that may be contaminated with viruses
Increase endurance, namely:
Sleep 6-9 hours a day
Exercise at least 30 minutes every day
Drink a lot and eat regularly a variety of nutritiously balanced foods
Do not stress
Do not take any medicine or herbal remedies
You only need to use a mask if you are sick, such as sneezing, runny nose, sore throat, coughing, and tightness. Also use a mask if you are required to be in a crowded place. If you are a health worker or people whose jobs are at high risk of contracting COVID-19 (for example cleaning cervices, security guards, police, etc.), even wearing a mask is safer for you. If there is a sick person near you, it will be much better if you give the mask to the person so that the disease does not spread to others.
The handsanitizer should also only be used in times of urgency, for example if you do not find soap and clean water sources. If you can get soap and clean water sources easily, it will be more effective if you wash your hands properly to kill viruses, as well as dirt and other microorganisms that stick to your hands.
Hope this helps ...
