Cracked Elbow Bone?
18 days ago I fell which caused my elbow bone to fracture then I tried to find an alternative but God could not allow me to heal and my elbow could not be bent until finally I went to the orthopedic doctor who was in the hospital where I lived the doctor suggested my surgery live what is the possibility that my hand will be normal again?
Treatment of a fractured or broken elbow depends on the severity and shape of the fracture. Some can only use a splint or other immobilization tool until the bone heals, but in some cases, surgery is needed to restore the position / anatomy of the bone and also restore its movement function.
The operation performed also depends on the case. Usually heals within a few weeks. It's possible that after surgery, your elbow can move back to the way it was before. Even so, every action carries a risk. The risks of complications from elbow surgery include infection, poor bone joint (malunion), arthritis (joint inflammation), problems with the bones (tools that are placed during bone surgery), problems with innervation and blood vessels. Your doctor must have considered that the benefits outweigh the risks and so recommend surgery.
We recommend that, if there is an injury and suspect a fracture / fracture, immediately see an orthopedic specialist. When a bone is broken / fractured, it will try to heal itself. If the bones are already connected but the position is not right, it will affect its function and shape.
Currently, you can follow the doctor's advice by performing surgery. You can dig deeper information about the condition of your elbow to your doctor. Don't forget to control and take medication according to the doctor's instructions after surgery.
