Hello Doctor, r nI am a 21 year old man, I have keloid / hypertrophy scar, acne scars around the jaw are small, the size of a corn kernels, some are even smaller but the number is around 4-5 on the left and right, sometimes I feel itchy and flushed . I have had steroid injection therapy, but the results of the keloid came back. R n r nI am planning to do cryotherapy, I want to ask how is the cryotherapy process? What are the obstacles? What are the advantages? Is there any therapy that is more convincing than this therapy? R n r nThank you
Keloids are growths of scar tissue on scars. This condition can occur in almost any scar. The size of the keloid itself varies from small to large. Keloid sores themselves can be removed in several ways, such as:
Steroid injections are carried out several times until the results are close to normal
The operation to remove keloids by incising the keloid and removing it after that is done in combination with steroid injections
Cryotherapy or action by freezing keloids using liquid nitrogen to deflate keloids but the drawback is that it can cause scars and darker discoloration on the skin surface
Use of silicone gel
Fluorouracil injections can be done simultaneously with steroids or without steroids
Every procedure has its advantages and disadvantages but until now the results given may not be permanent. For that, you should first check with a dermatologist for treatment in accordance with the conditions you are experiencing.
